The Beginning...
Hi, I’m Kelly Lynch — mum to three incredible boys.
My middle son, Cameron, is diagnosed with Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Speech & Language Delay.
In February 2021, I posted a photo of Cameron wearing a hoodie I’d made with the slogan #AutismClub on my personal Instagram, @lynch_mob_mumma. That space is where I share the highs and lows of life with a child with additional needs.
The hoodie was born out of a simple but powerful idea: when I’m out with Cameron, his behaviours - like stimming, squealing, humming, walking in lines, jumping, or seeking deep pressure - often attract stares, confusion, or even judgment. I was tired of always explaining. I don’t owe anyone an explanation.
But I wanted to find a way to speak without words.
A way to say: Cameron is autistic. He experiences the world differently. Please be kind.
That’s where #AutismClub began.
The response was overwhelming. Families, carers, and individuals messaged me to say, “Us too.” They understood the need for something that raises awareness, opens minds, and shows pride - not shame.
#AutismClub isn’t just clothing.
It’s a message. A movement. A way to raise awareness for those with hidden disabilities and to empower those who love and advocate for them.
So welcome to the #Club.
Everyone’s invited.
Let’s change perceptions, spark conversations, and spread kindness - one T-shirt or Hoodie at a time.
